In this slice, I show you how I use the school’s grading system to enter standards and features of writing and then give students feedback into the grade system by not entering a grade but by using the comment feature of the SIS grading system. I talk through my process and explain briefly how students check my feedback and use that to make revisions to their writing.

I love how you show such day to day practices in your posts this month. There are so many things we do the same but a peek into someone else’s process and thinking is so valuable! Grading is such a hot button issue too. I heard a speaker recently who said that grades are not about feelings – how teachers feel about them is irrelevant. There should be a consistent system. Thanks for showing how you function!
